Dust off your denim jacket, untangle your cassette tapes and prepare to travel back to the greatest decade of cinema. The Arc Cinema's Back to the 80s season returns for a fourth year, but this time we've raided the VHS shelf for an all-new line-up of cult classics and crowd-pleasers we've never screened before. Book your tickets, grab your popcorn, settle into your seat and experience these timeless 80s favourites the way they were meant to be seen – on the big screen. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Big Trouble in Little China remains one of the most beloved cult classics ever made. Released in 1986, this wildly inventive action-comedy from legendary director John Carpenter stars Kurt Russell as Jack Burton, a wise-cracking truck driver who stumbles into a supernatural battle beneath the streets of San Francisco's Chinatown. Blending martial arts, fantasy, horror and comedy in a way few films have ever matched, the movie features spectacular practical effects, unforgettable characters and the iconic villain Lo Pan. Packed with quotable dialogue, thrilling action and pure 80s imagination, Big Trouble in Little China is the kind of film that only gets better with age – and there's no better way to celebrate 40 years of mayhem than seeing it back where it belongs on the big screen.
