Accessibility at The Arc Cinema
Accessibility at The Arc Cinema
At The Arc Cinema, we’re committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy the magic of the big screen in comfort and confidence. Each of our cinemas has been designed with accessibility in mind, offering a range of facilities and services to make your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Step-Free Access
All Arc Cinema locations feature step-free access to the building and screens, with accessible toilets and designated wheelchair spaces available in every auditorium. Our friendly team is always happy to help with any assistance you may need on arrival.
Sight Impared Guests
Our Fidelio audio description system is available at selected Arc Cinema locations, providing enhanced sound through personal headsets for guests who are blind or partially sighted. The system delivers a separate audio track with clear narration describing key visual elements such as actions, facial expressions, and scene changes — all in sync with the film.
Audio-described performances are clearly marked on our film listings. When you arrive, please speak to a member of our team, who will be happy to provide a Fidelio headset. You may be asked to leave a form of ID while using the equipment.
Guide dogs are warmly welcomed in all our cinemas and are permitted in any screening. Our team will be happy to assist you with suitable seating arrangements.
Hearing Assistance
We’re proud to offer the Fidelio wireless audio system, designed to improve the cinema experience for guests who are hearing impaired. The Fidelio system delivers high-quality audio through personal headsets, allowing users to adjust the volume to their own comfort level. Please ask a member of staff on arrival if you’d like to use one of our Fidelio receivers.
Subtitled Screenings
To ensure everyone can enjoy the latest releases, we host subtitled screenings every Monday evening. These showings include on-screen captions displaying dialogue and key sound effects, ideal for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. Subtitled screenings are clearly marked on our website and app when booking tickets.
Autism-Friendly Screenings
We regularly run autism-friendly performances with reduced volume, partially raised lighting, and freedom to move around the auditorium. These screenings are relaxed and welcoming for guests who prefer a calmer environment.
60+ Screenings
Every Friday afternoon, we host our exclusive 60+ screenings – a relaxed and sociable cinema experience designed for older audiences. Enjoy the latest films in comfort, often with complimentary tea or coffee included with your ticket.
Carer and Companion Tickets
Guests who require the assistance of a carer or companion are entitled to complimentary admission for their carer when presenting a valid Local Authority, HSE, or recognised disability ID card. This ensures that all guests can enjoy their visit in comfort and with the support they need. Please speak to a member of our team on arrival, who will be happy to assist.
